Welcome to Arbor Ales
We have been brewing quality craft ales since early 2007. All our beers are brewed using the finest ingredients: Maris Otter malt supplied by Warminster Maltings, Britain’s oldest working floor maltings, and whole hops from Charles Faram of Malvern.
Our beers are available in the best real ale pubs in and around the Bristol area. One or two are always on tap at our own pubs, the Old Stillage in Redfield (the brewery tap) and the Three Tuns in Hotwells.
News
25/02/12 - Last week we had plenty of cause for celebration. The Three Tuns was voted Bristol & District CAMRA pub of the year 2012. Considering it only went into the Good Beer Guide this year, we were a little surprised to say the least. A huge thank you goes to all the local CAMRA branch members, not only for the votes but also for supporting the Three Tuns since we took it over 18 months ago. And of course, the biggest thanks go to all of our fantastic staff at the Tuns, present and past, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that it's a pub to be proud of.
We also celebrated the brewery's fifth birthday last week. We decided to celebrate this by making an imperial stout, brewed with maple syrup (well Namaya is a Canuck, eh!) and of course a massive amount of hops. Most of this should be going into bottles, with the odd cask appearing in the usual spots and one or two laid down to age.

25/02/12 - Arbor Ales has left the building! Well, almost... We've now nearly completed our relocation to Lawrence Hill, a short walk from the Old Stillage. Last week we moved the plant from Kingswood and did a test brew: Single Hop - Stella (mk2), and very nice it is too. The new site is slightly bigger, allowing us to install a bigger plant later this year. We've also just been granted a new premises license so will soon be selling direct to the public from the brewery and by mail order (as soon as we've worked out how to configure the online shop). All in all, exciting times ahead....
30/09/11 - Great to have the Cirencester CAMRA chaps with us last night for the proverbial p**s up we did our best to organise in the brewery. Pictured here, Paul (left) is receiving the "Beer of the Festival" award he picked up at this year's Cotswold Beer Festival for his first brew of the Oyster Stout. A good time was had by all, no doubt helped by the inaugural outing of "Double Trouble", our 12% barley wine collaboration with Art Brew.
16/09/11 - Very happy to report that the Three Tuns is in the 2012 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. And the Old Stillage is also included again this year. Big thanks go to all the satff at both pubs for keeping up the high standards required to feature in the guide. You can all have a beer!
20/05/11 - We've just started bottling some of our beers. All are bottle conditioned and hand bottled by us at the brewery. Look out for them in our pubs and selected off-licenses in Bristol and surrounding areas.
06/03/11 - We're very pleased to announce that we've just picked up a national award for our Festival Mild. We took the silver award in the Stouts, Porters, Old Ales and Strong Milds category at the 2011 SIBA National Beer Competition. Namaya is pictured here collecting the award at the Annual Brewer's Conference held in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
